Major snowfall clearing
During long storms we clear roughly halfway through and return once the snow stops, so you are never sealed in behind a wall of snow.
Two visits instead of one
Capital Region storms often run for twelve hours or more. Waiting for the end means clearing thirty centimetres in one go, and it means you are stuck indoors while it piles up. On a major snowfall we clear your walkway at roughly the halfway point and come back once the snow has finished.
What counts as a major snowfall
We treat a snowfall as major when forecast accumulation and duration mean a single visit would leave you facing a heavy, compacted path. That judgement is made on the day using the current forecast rather than a rigid number, because a slow twelve hour event and a fast three hour squall behave very differently.
Staying reachable during a storm
A partly cleared path matters most for people who cannot wait: a home care worker arriving, a prescription being delivered, or simply getting out to check on the car. The mid storm visit keeps that access open.
After the storm
The return visit brings the walkway, steps and entry back to full width and clears the ridge that builds along the edges. If you have traction sand on your plan, it is applied on this final pass so it is not immediately buried.
